Home For The Holidays
As the VP of Leadership for Blacksburg DECA, I was in charge of organizing community service projects for my chapter. One of our biggest service projects each year is Home For The Holidays. This year, we collected over $3,000 to sponsor over 225 bags of food for local, underprivileged elementary schools kids to take home over the winter holidays.
ReNew the New
As a member of Venture Crew I go canoeing a lot. To give back to nature and make sure that we are helping promote LNT guidelines, I helped pick up trash near the new river for the ReNew the New Project.
Linen and Towel Donation for Local Animal Shelters
During January and February 2021, I collected linens, towels, blankets, and comforters to donate to local animal shelters. With the help of my community, I was able to collect 11 boxes with close to 200 items in total.
Camp Invention
During the summer of 2019 I was a Leadership Intern for Camp Invention. I helped the campers solve problems and come up with ideas for their S.T.E.M. projects. As someone who enjoyed Camp Invention when I was younger, I wanted the kids to have the same experience.
